Hoping that this will be acceptable, I've received a lot of help from you guys despite my engine being the wrong way around. The A series in my trike is a nice fit but once it's in I don't have enough clearance under the frame top tubes to get the rocker cover up and off. However, I do have a fair degree of clearance so I was thinking of getting a cast aluminium cover, sliding through it horizontally half way up, fitting a cork or rubber seal and clamping it together. Anyone think it will work? Anyone certain it will leak?! Many thanks as always, Phil.

There is no reason your idea wouldn't work as long as the seal is properly seated, it is keeping the seal in place that would be the problem. A gasket usually has more of a flange to sit on, an O-ring would usually sit in a groove cut in one of the mating faces.

This might give you some ideas (if you can get over the price)

Alternatively, could you take a steel cover and slice the back end off at an angle?

Thanks, my initial thought was to angle the cover, it may work just chopping the top of a steel one and lowering it and welding. Just wanted to ask to see what ideas people have. I realise I've probably posted in the wrong section if anyone can move please? Thanks again.
