Hello guys...i've an HS4 twin carb Mini and i still thinking to put in my car a custom air box to improve the air breathing of carb. Someone have or know an airbox that take fresh air behind the front grille? My idea it's take a cone filter with a tube to ending in airbox mounted on the HS4 carb.

What do you think? Thanks

Cone filters have a poor reputation - the sharp edge at the exit causing turbulence and reducing the effective dia of the intake. I think I remember an article by Calver, testing on a RR and getting less power from a cone "upgrade" than from a standard (single) air box with a couple holes drilled in it. And a long tube, unless very wide diameter, will also be a restriction.

You may also suffer carb icing by taking cold air direct, so you might need one of the thermostat type flappy things that regulates intake temp by taking some air from near the exhaust.
