Hello,

This Weaver Tool recently found its way to me.

I cannot figure out how to fit this gauge to a wheel. The set came without any Instruction/Manual.

Does somebody know how to use the gauge or even better has an instructional leaflet for this he could scan and post

Thanks for any help.

Kind regards,

Helmut

It looks in principal, similar to the camber gauge I made a while back;-

I'd say there may have been another box that is part of the gauge you have there, that has a fitting kit.

Few gauges directly measure Castor, nearly all do it by calculation from the castor angle and 2 different steering angles, and the Weaver Gauge you have there is almost certainly the same in that regards.

Quite a puzzle.

I would say that that lot is the fitting kit.

how I have no idea, but I would not presume everything is there.

my first thoughts are the bit with the red bit might hang on the top of the tyre.

I will probably have the information you require when I'm home.

I have a 1936 Weaver alignment guide which has instructions for their equipment. I also have a lot of other alignment equipment info saved. I'm sure I've seen one like this before.

Here it is. Unforunately I am missing a couple of pages from this section so it isn't all there but the pictures must help. Note that the tyre scribe is also useful for toe. Scribe the line and then use a tape measure at the front and back. This eliminates any runout from the rim.

Edit: the forum has reduced the image size. I'll find a solution.

I plan to scan the whole thing eventually, it is an interesting book.

Dear 68&86,

many thanks to Australia and specially to you!

I doubted first if there is any information of this gauge. You helped me a lot.

Thank you again.

Kind regards,

Helmut

I put it in the right order:
