"A second-hand luxury SUV or executive saloon can be a very tempting proposition for car buyers. While these vehicles would have been exceptionally expensive new, depreciation over subsequent years means they often become affordable used options. Even models up to three years old can be snapped up at a fraction of their original price. As such, motorists can have the kudos and bravado of driving around in a plush premium motor without breaking the bank to buy one. But purchasing a high-end vehicle comes with a high risk of steep repair bills, according to the latest report from used car warranty provider, Warrantywise."
Half of the cars in the list are Land Rover products, the British brand now owned by Indian giant Tata:-

I guess there wasn't enough space for MG, LDV, VW and many others.

I would add any Nissan on that list, and any vehicle which has a CVT.
It would also be intersting to know which vehicle manufacturers sponser the reporting organisations and sites.

So how about detailing what the issues actually are, is it the engine, ancillaries, gearboxes etc etc.

A lot if not all of the cars mentioned in that report have timing chains and of course none of them are straight forward to replace. The A7 for example you need to drop the engine out. A lot of the JLR engines suffer from timing chain stretch as do some of the BMW's, so wear and tear, poor servicing etc.
