i have bought and engine block, crank and cylinder head. I need to store them while i get around building them up into an engine. I gave them a liberal spraying of Ferrosol.

Are there any better methods for protecting steel Mini parts long term?

Is oil paper still a thing?

I use a strong clear plastic bag on my engine and gearbox parts and I use an old hoover to suck as much air out as possible before sealing with a cable tie.

Everything thing get a good spraying of oil first of course.

I put smaller stuff in ziplock bags, with silica gel packs

larger bits I just spray with WD 40 on a regular basis, or just try and get it done quicker .. yet to find a ziplock bag that will fit my engine block unfortunately lol.. it's in dry storage but still occasionally check / wash with WD again and leave a nice coating of it on there
