Than he borowed it of me (un-willingly) and whilst it was on his car his engine died.
now i have got my carb back and it is screwed.
It idles really well, but if you acclerate or rev the engine then the engine stalls, unless you floor it, and if you do it pisses out smoke.
What the hell is wrong with it?
Thanks.
Chris.
P.S. mini93 also threw up LOADS on my bed and all over my mums favourate rug, Cheers.

No carb will run identical on two different engines. Thats what we have rolling roads for.
it was running spot on about 3 weeks ago. nothing has changed on it.
The smoke is just a dark blue, looks like burning oil, i dont think the two are connected.

I've checked the dash pot oil and it is fine.air leak?
dash pot oil?
I did not change the gaskets on the carb because they looked ok, could this mean that it is an ari leak?

Have you tried adjusting it? Or setting it up - you could go to a garage and ask them to look at it...
But if nothings changed I can't see why there'd be a problem, split fuel pipe?
Smoke from the exhaust I presume, sure it's the carb? 'Could' be spark plugs or leads giving up and your getting a missfire on one cylinder, build up of unburnt fuel then as you 'floor ot' this ignites in the exhaust = smoke and a bang...

I am not going to try and set the carb up as it was running fine befor it was removed and i waould rather not touch it before i can have a good look at it.
all my fule lines are brand new, the carb was doing the same thing on mini93's car as well so it is deffinatly a carb problem.

Or can you find someone close by to look at it? Where abouts are you?

I'm out of ideas, can you find another carb and run that?

Maybe you poured oil down into the manifold when filling up dash pot? Maybe it will burn off it you let it run for a while?

spray it all out and give it a clean, it wont change the settings.
but first, get a can of wd40 (or use the carb cleaner) and spray it around where gaskets etc are when its running at idle.
if the revs drop and/or it stalls, this means you have an air leak
i remember when i stripped my bike, this happened, turned out to be a blocked main jet, but then su's are completely different
