Looks like I’ve just found out the availability of Mpi ignition switches is not good…

So my next thought…is the plastic switch  repairable or is there an alternative switch available from another car of the period? MGF , TF, Rover Metro/ 100?  Land Rover…etc. that will work.

If anyone has any thoughts or has experience with QRF100750 switches that could point me in some direction. I’d be very grateful.

Or……convert to an earlier non airbag column and switch? Which I heavily suspect will open a world of s*** regarding MOT…although I appreciate ( non airbag)  more attractive steering wheels are often fitted.

Plus the added joy of electrical connection differences..

Any guidance would be very greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It looks Landrover like, not that it means too much other than also from the Prince of Darkness.

There are Lannie specialists all over the place, but a punt on Ebay might not cost any more than the juice to visit one.

There aren't any clear online piccies of that end of the lock, but it does look more like the MGF Rover 25....

The Landrover one is almost identical, it just has an extra plug you don't use and the main plug needs re wiring to suit Mini :)
