Hi all. Ive done a bit of searching here but cant quite find an answer - if youd be so kind...
'95 SPi. Been running great, all of a sudden running rich, high idle. Im pretty well versed with the causes of this - done years of research! Everything has recently been replaced - Lambda, coolant sensor, intake manifold has been refurbed, vaccuum pipes done, throttle cable all replaced recently.
Plugged it into MEMFCR and was surprised to see "Intake Air Temperature Sensor Fault" (complete failure - the green plug one in the air filter housing) plus also a TPS fault. The IAT was replaced 200 miles ago so was surprised to see it failed.
I knew the TPS was on its way out, so ordered another one plus a new green IAT Sensor. Im going to replace the TPS this weekend - need to get the whole intake manifold off as im replacing the manifold with a new Maniflow one at the same time.
To check the IAT before I change the TPS out, I plugged in the new sensor MEMSFCR is showing the same fault.
Ive checked the green plug and inspected the wiring - cant see anything obvious - but it disappears into a well taped up loom heading to the ECU I believe - but im guessing my issue must be the cable.
My question is how can I test the green plug cable? I guess I need to test the pins back to the (single) ECU plug. Am I testing for continuity, resistance or both - on what pins - and if resistance is being measured what readings do I need.
