My mini had a new tank as part of its rebuild back in 2022. Since then I've filled up regularly with E10 fuel and used Bilt Hambers Gas Mac after most fill ups.

 

Over 4 years on, I'm removing the tank to address some rust/paint issues on the car and thought I'd take a look in the tank since I'm draining it. 

 

Here are the results...

So far, so good. I can't see much, if any, corrosion and that's after years of E10. 

 

The fuel pipes have perished over the 4 years, so I'll have to source some better ones. I'm impressed with gas mac though.

I have to ask, why not use E5 and protect your fuel pipes?

Aside from the short fuel pipe between the tank and pump, they're all fine. I replaced all fuel lines as part of the rebuild, so there shouldn't be any issues with them.
