Hi all i was wondering if i could get some help. I have a set 12" banded steel wheels that came with my car. I have messured them and they look to be 12x7 with a 3inch middle section welded in. I was wondering if i need to make any modification to the body before fitting them? I cant check to see if they fit as the cars is just a shell at the moment in the bodyshop. Any help will be appricated.

I'd think it's fairly likely. It will also be affected by the offset and tyres, though they expect they'll not be 145/70's!

If your wheels are 7" wide your proposed tyre size is too narrow. I believe a 195 tyre section to be the minimum recomended for this width.
