Hi all,

 

The master cylinder went on my rallycar - it was a 'green tag' one with the m10 fittings top and bottom.  Unfortunately, the car has no regular hard lines in it at all - it was all plumbed with braided stainless.  So now I've received the new yellow tag master cylinder I need a custom m12 line that goes to a different style fitting on the firewall (pictured).

 

Should I redo the whole car and go back to hardlines? - won't these old braided lines be susceptible to breaking down internally just like any braided hoses?

 

Would love to get one line made up to get me through the next couple of events at least if possible, anyone around that does that?

Actually...looks like a union like this would do the trick...assuming the conversion pipe from Minispares is m12 to m10.  I do wonder what specific type of flare it is, though.

you can cut the end off that brake hose and buy the relavant fitting. look at torques on ebay. 

 

the hose is ptfe lined with stainless outer. they will outlast your car for sure.

You can get M12>M10 adaptors so you can still use the braided hoses, just be aware though, the hoses need to be transposed, ie the front brake circuit is on the upper port with these.

I'm using a Metro clutch master, they're also M12x1. I just sleeved it & retapped UNF to use the same hose kit as on your clutch.

 

An M10x1 helicoil may well be M12x1.

Good to know I shouldn't need to replace all the lines....and that the front circuit is now on the upper port...definitely would have missed that.

 

Found the 'Torques' lines on ebay, might look into going that route.
