Hi folks, 
After many years of deliberation and Life getting in the way, I finally picked up a Mini for myself. 

It's a 1980 Leyland 998cc, and has been with 2 families for most of its life in Dublin. I'm the 8th keeper. 

I wasn't even going to buy it when I saw it first (I had my heart set on a 1275) but when I took a look, I realised it was too good to pass up. 
Clean shell, resprayed from Java Green to a BMW metallic about 20 years ago. Engine has had a rebuilt at some stage, including a cylinder bore & hone, and it's had a new coil & plugs recently. Brakes have been refreshed (though I still have one wheel getting warmer than the rest, so I've been chasing the Goldilocks point on the adjuster for the last few nights) 

There are still plenty of job to keep me busy over the winter, and we might squeeze out a few drives before it all gets too rainy (which is inevitable in Co. Galway!)  

I'll be documenting my owenrship over on Backroads.ie but I'll keep thing up to date over here too!

As the son of a Galway man I know of plenty of good mini roads I'd love to take my mini round in Galway, one day maybe. Have fun
