Good morning all.

After some advice on needles and I know its not a one size fits all with these and ideally id like AC to tune the car but ive not had the opertunity due to distances.

Long story, my car was fitted with a ADL but had and excessive piston cushion.

I reduced the cushion to the correct size baselined the carb. I have fitted the correct AAC needle for the 998.

However I appear to have a larger exhaust but a standard manifold. As well as this there is holes drilled in the underside of the standard airbox, but fitted with a standard paper element.

The car runs and drives very well I belive. But the plugs appear lean despite richining up the mix. It starts with minimal choke input.

So do i refit the ADL or should I get another needle?

I know plugs burn hotter and cleaner with new fuels. But I dont want to burn a valve etc.

I only use the car for fun and like to give it the beans when accelerating.

Many thanks.

Get an air fuel ratio gauge, check and measure, then adjust accordingly. Any suggestions of a needle will be a complete guess without accurate measurements

Reduce the mixture nut back to where it was, that only works for idle

The nut lowers the jet so it effectively moves the fuelling the needle gives forwards - it'll be generally richer everywhere, but it won't be linear & it's likely to be made richer the less throttle is used.
