Hello all. I am on the committee for the Kentish Mini Club, and here are a few words about who we are and where we meet. Any members please feel free to add your own comments and topics......

We meet on the 2nd and 4th mondays of each month.

The second monday is held at the Frog and Orange pub, in Shatterling. This is on the A256 between Sandwich and Wingham. Meetings start at 8 o'clock.

The forth monday is held at the George Inn in Molash, on the A252, between Canterbury and Ashford, again starting at 8 o'clock.

We have our Christmas Buffet on Dec 11th, at the White Horse, in Boughton. £7 a head. If anyone is interested, members included, please contact me. Members should have received a newsletter.

During the summer months we try and have a run out on one of the meeting nights each month, treasure hunts, fish and chips, quizzes etc. Ideas for club nights are always welcomed.

We are a growing club, who attend most big shows, although not always having a club stand. everyone is welcome. We don't take things too seriously, some members only attend a few times a year, and others every meeting. Everyone helps each other out with advice on all aspects of mini ownership.

To find out more, you can contact me via PM or on 07753 766027. There is also a small website - www.kentishminiclub.co.uk

hi mate. we don't usually have a meeting on the forth monday of december, because everyone will be busy with christmas, and this year that falls on christmas day. the next meeting after that day will be the second monday of january, which will be the 8th jan. have a good christmas, hopefully see you in the new year, there's a show at the end of jan which i will see if people are interested in going to.

It's now been postponed to the 2nd monday in Feb, due to everyone being fat from xmas food and beer....

...and because everyone will be knackered due to the xtra xmas bone-ing.

Hi.

my name is Tom. I've just bought my first mini, a nice looking 1986 D reg Mayfair. has had quite a bit done to it, including a complete respray last year.

I bought it as a "rolling project," ie: it works, it taxed and MOTd, but so that I can do bits of work to it to learn how they work, what goes where etc.

I am interested in joining the club, and meeting other local mini owners etc.

that's all about me really, look forward to seeing some of you soon

Tom

morning mate. the next club meeting is the second monday of february, the 12th. we'l be at the Frog and Orange, in Shatterling, near Wingham. i will be going to the British Mini Fair in stafford at the end of jan, and i'm guessing there will be a few others, so if ya fancy tagging along, just let me know. i haven't sorted any arrangements for that show yet. i live and work in Deal, so not far from you.

Hi

I would love to go, that would be really good fun. i'll have to try and get the day off work first. i'll let you know how I get on. my poor car needs a bit of work. someone at Manna Hutte (you'll know where that is if you're local) informs me that the cones on the front need doing. apparantly it's an awful job, but i'll have to get it done.

anyway, would be really nice if I could go with you, and to everyone else, see you in february!

Tom

[thanks.

going off the topic of the forum slightly, has anyone got a rough price for doing the cones? Manna Hutte have quoted me £90-£140 per side, and I don't know how much it should cost roughly. i'm no way clever enough to do it myself.

Thanks, Tom

Hi

I found their number and I phoned them.

looks like I might have to supply parts.

does anyone know whether standard or sompetition cones would be more suitable?

Thanks

Tom

standard cones will be fine, the main thing is make sure they are genuine cones, with Moulton and or Dunlop stamped on them and the patent numbers. buy from a reputable source and pay around 35-40 quid each for them i think.

hello mate. yeah i know gemma and phil. the best thing to do is pop along to a meeting and see what we're all about. you don't need to worry about joining just yet, see how you get on with us all first. i am going to Bingley Hall in a few weeks, and there's a few of us going up, if you fancy joining us?
