Hi guys, I was wondering if I could fit the above engine into a mini (mk1 maybe morris) with too much modifications and/or hassle? to be honest i don't know too much about minis, just joined lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Erm, i dont think so mate (without too much hassle that is).
Take a look in the 'non mini engined projects' section.
Edit: Ah, i notice that is where you have posted this....i take it 'without many mods/much hassle' meant you were planning on putting it in teh front?

the price off the GT's has come down dramatically recently, you could pick an engine up from ebay for £450!!!!!
Or just buy a cheap one and strip it all down!!
Iv got a GT now so know quite abit about them, PM me if you need any help or parts!!!

Yeah - there are a few of us Aussies who have done the conversion. I have just started one myself and picked up the front cut last week. I have also driven one and YES INDEED THEY ARE QUICK... A stock 4EFTE engine with exhaust only in the Mini kept up with my 305hp (at the wheels) R33 Nissan Skyline turbo when we had a few spritited runs a few months ago. That's no mean feat considering the Skyline does a 13.5sec 1/4 mile.

google fensport and toy tuning, both of them can source you a front cut or complete engine. i deal with toy tuning more or less every day as a supplier of O.E toyota parts, and he is going to source me a front cut starlet turbo when ive got the funds to do it. the prices on the fensport website are a bit out of date, best to call them for the right prices as the £ to Yen rate is not good so is pushing up the prices.
