My daughters boyfirend has managed to fuse the wires to the front wiring loom of her mini and so I need to rip it out and replace it. This looks like a pain in the bum of a job - does any one know how long it is likely to take or any other hints that will make life easier. Getting rid of boyfriend is already being considered!!
Autosparks seems to be the suppliers of choice so far.

well it can be a very fiddly job.
what about a secondhand front loom? you might be able to get away with just replacing the front rather than the whole loom.
best way is to strip as much off the bulkhead areas as possible and have the car as empty as possible to give yourself room to work

i bought a new loom from minispares it fitted spot on in about an hour, behind the dash and switches is fiddy but on the whole an easy job imo
the looms come in front and rear sections anyway and join near the wiper motor

The loom is for a C plate Mayfair with 3 seperate speedo . tacho and fuel gauge. I,m hoping to get just the front part of the loom rather than replace the whole thing.

unfortunately the front loom is everything from the headlights to the dash lights and the switches over the heater!
dropping the 2 screws out of the front of the heater will help you get a lot of it out but it will still be a pain!!
id take the rubber grommets out of the bulkhead and lower dash rail and slowly feed the plugs out 1 by 1 into the engine bay!!
good luck with the wiper motor plug!!!!
