Hi,

I have recently bought a weber 45 DCOE from ebay and it was not in the condition described and did not come with a K & N filter. The banjo and fuel pipe linkage had lots of small holes which caused leaks. It was said to be jetted for a 1380, which it wasnt. The choke was broken amongst other things.

I have had it all repaired now, but in the meantime I had reported it to ebay, and they have asked for a letter from a company specialising in the product (Minis or webers I suppose) saying that the item was not in satisfactory condition.

I was wondering if there was anyone on here that could do me a favour and write me this letter, I cannot find any specialists like this near where I am and am not really sure where to look...

All I need is something describing the condition of the weber on headed paper.

Cheers in advanced,

Ian

Did you repair the carb? If not just get the place who did to write the letter, or any local garage. doesnt have to be a mini specialist to determine if a carb is knackered or not...

It could well have been jetted for a 1380, just one thats in a different state of tune to yours!

I know of a Webber specialist about 8 miles from me. You'd have to send it to him though. Alternatively send it to Webber themselves, or at least a Webber outlet.

Also, anyone used to dealing with old racing or rallying classics should be able to know what to look for on a webber! I thought there was someone down Portsmouth way that is a genuis at tuning midgets and sprites, he should be able to help?

If its already been fixed, you will have a hard job of getting someone to write you a letter saying its 'not as described'

As said above, get the chap who fixed it up to do you something in writing, even an invoice for parts replaced would probably do it as they usually have the part replaced and a reason for it (things I have had fixed have this on).

Do you have a link to the item still ?
