Just a quick and short update with a picture when rebuilding the engine:
The last 6 months I have been working on building a GT35r on the busa. It runs nicely on 4psi basic boost and can go to 32psi.

For now I am not able to upload the picture with the following message: "Upload failed. Please ask the administrator to ensure the uploads directory is writeable".

@CptKirk: When I start it again, I will see that I can make a movie and put on the net. For now I am struggling with the drain hose from the turbo to the oilpan, because going from full rpm to less then 4000rpm results in spitting too much oil out the compressor side of the turbo. This is caused by the drop in RPM, slowing down the scavenge pump and therefore having too much oil in the engine for a short period of time. I am testing different solutions for this and hope to have this sorted by the end of this week.

The Mini is nearing completion and I hope to finish it the next month. Then I will go to out for a dyno for the final adjustment. I have not used any other ECU, but I have altered the 32-bit ECU with success. I know one thing for sure, and that is when boosting above 6 psi it is very difficult to handle when the boost increase too fast.

So you did use the standard ecu??

I also would like to see a dyno, hopefully on a dyno like the one JD Engineering has.

Just a quick photo just before closing self-made clutchcover for the lock-up clutch and putting the bulkhead back in...

On the right side of the engine you see the new oil tank for the drysump system. I had to make room for the 3" exhaust pipe coming out the GT35 and the Tial wastegate. The previous tank was good for 5 liters of oil, the new one can hold at least 8 liters and even then it is 2/3 full. So it can even hld more oil but then it would be expensive when changing it.... I made all the parts like header, tank, downpipes, intakepipes and all the needed flanges for the header, turbo and wastegate.

@miniQ: the predicted BHP will start around 300 bhp and can go much higher depending on the amount of boost and in which gear I am driving (made my own boost controller in which I am using gear position, RPM and throttle positon to determine the wanted/desired boost pressure).

Today I have put the bulkhead and seats back in. Too bad that is started raining at 1700 and it did not stop, otherwise I took her out for a drive. But during the evening I pushed her out and washed her during the rain and took some pictures too. So I have 2 nice pictures for all of you. Comments are always welcome

Wow its looks great! - The way the rear arches flow onto that custom valance with the vents. Also every mini photo with a mini with wheels larger then 13" i have never like due to them looking way too big for the body of the car BUT your car is an exeption - Maybe because it is nicely lowered ? (rhetorical question)

Thanks! The arches are all made smooth with the good old trick of lead-loading and no fiberglass or much filler is used.
The wheels are 15" because of the 296mm discs in the front with huge Subaru Impreza 6-pot caliper (made for the rally-sport). The lowest point on the front has 6cm clearance and the lowest point on the rear has 5.5cm clearance.
That is pretty low, but high enough to drive over the usual speedbumps.

I like it, and I agree with miniQ the wheels do actually look good. Credit to you.

by the way 300BHP in that is going to be awesome.

Enjoy it to the full.
