Not too far down the line a lovely new layer of paint will need applying to the mini.

I was wondering If anyone could advises me on roughly how much it would cost to have a bare shell prepped and painted in Britsh rasing green with an old english white roof? I will give them a rolling shell (no masking) with the idea of painting the outside and give the inside a lick of paint too.

I was also wondering if anyone could recommend a good paint shop in the Warwickshire area?

Thank for your help.

A quick search on the site will bring up literally hundreds of results for this exact question buddy.

Unfortunatly, No one here (apart form those here who work in/own a bodyshop) can give you a quote. This is because quality anmd prices vary LOADS!

your best bet is to get some quotes then come back on here with your findings.

Personally, £1500+ 'should' give you a good complete respray, but like i said, results are so varied.

You can get 'cheap' resprays that are really good and last ages, and you can get expensive ones that peel after two weeks.... it's really like this!... search for 'LUCIFERSMELLSICKY' and read her thread, she's had lots of trouble with her paint, yet paid rather a lot!

on the other hand some people here have spent £600, and got a stunning job done!

I will give them a rolling shell (no masking)

if ur getting the inside and outside done then they still have to mask, all the outside when doing the inside and then mask the windows and doors up when doing the outside,

Speak her name and she doth arrive....

Lol, yes I paid a fair bit for mine and its poo. So i would reccomend having a search on the tinternet for sprayers in your area and taking some time out to go and visit them, ask for a written quote explaining what will be done. I was surprised how many places couldn't be bothered to take time out of their day to write it down on a bit of paper for you.

Eventually, I've found a fab guy locally who when we visited took time out of his work to take us around his garage show us his portfolio, and spray booth, and then gave us a written quote to totally redo our job

Don't rush into it, have a good poke around, if they want your custom and are proud of their work they should have no problem showing you what they have done.

I didn't look into my original garage properly, I just thought as they always had loads of minis outside they would be good. Alas i have since found out their are a few people unhappy with them and I should have done my research a bit better, and had many a 'told you so' dances done at me for it.

It may be worth travelling further a field for a good garage too.

Theres a sprayed near here actually.. which might be a bit far for you to go!
my girlfriends parents brought a mg midget.. and had the front wing replaced and any dings ect sorted out. Was resprayed in red. was only 500 but the paint is immaculate and no sign of the previous colour anywhere.. no paint blemishes and no imperfections :-
If you like i can get the number ect...
