What about continuing the theme with black engine and white ancillaries?
If not, any vibrant colour is going to look good in a clean black engine bay!

black on its own would prob be a bit too much.. could you not do it black and silver, it gives you the advantage of being able to put any aftermarket parts on the car as most of them can be brought in silver.

I once said i was good for something!

id suggest a chrome plated rocker cover,
as these come up nicely when clean...

paint the gearbox bell housing silver... and paint the block silver.. but leave the head black.
gives a good contrast, and not too over powering....

silver? it'll look awful with chrome bits! And it will always look dirty, even when its clean!

I reckon a nice MOWOG green, yellow, or a mid blue.

If you try a company called `Somerford Mini', they are very good with engine paints. I have a Mk1 cooper, and they supply the paint to the specific year of my car. BMC green comes in various shades, but Somerford are very specific with shades of Engine Paint.

I recommend them before anything else. When on the phone, they will ask specific questions such sas the mmodel of you car, year of manufacture etc.

On the other hand, they can supply paint to you own liking and shade.
My engine piccy attached . Painted in `Dark Green` Enamel (BMC green) from Somerford Mini.

Hope this helps
John
