I doubt that it will be that as i made sure it was all clean and degreased before i put it all together.

hmm!! the only other thing i can think is the actual arm the cylinder operates could be worn not activating the mechanism by much!!
the ball on the end of the short arm wears out and the release breairng things where the arm goes wears too!!
it mite take a drive to settle things down then!! give it a try if you are sure you have bled everything out!!

i did have a look as to wether there was any wear on the mechanism when i had it all apart but everything looked fine, no visible wear at all so i don't think it would be that but i'm not tottaly ruling it out.

its fixed! ......kinda The clutch works excellent now with the new pressure and friction plates and release bearing. The gear change is smooth and consistent so thats one problem sorted
BUT. i seem to have an oil leak now from a bolt that holds the gearbox to the engine and another from down the bottom near the radiator at the end!
The bolt that the leak seems to be from is the one at the front of the gearbox at the flywheel end. Its the one nearest the flywheel that i mean. It seems to be leaking down the thread of the bolt and then down the side of the box. I'm not really sure how it can do that as it that point isn't under any pressure and the oil level is below that level but thats where it seems to be from.
As for the other end, i've an idea that it may be leaking from the timing cover. Is that a likely cause? If not thn is it at all likely i fitted the rubber half moon onto the crank shaft wrong when i fitted the gearbox to the engine?
any ideas would be great guys.
cheers for all the help so far

its a mini, they all leak!! you culd ret removing the bolts and putting a smudge of silicon sealent around the mating surface if that makes sense. failing that i really cant see that it will leak significantly to effect your oil level.
