i found that often a 998 doesnt have enuf vacuum to get the gauge to where u want it to be at idle it'll be in poor, etc etc, !! other cars maybe bigger engines will be the other way round they'll idle with the gauge right round to the max!!
firstly are you just taking vacuum from the same place as the dizzy gets it or are you using a seperate manifiold take off?? actual manifold pressure will probably be higher than the readout u get at the dizzy takeoff!!

u can buy a carb spacer that has a built in take off!! this should read a lot better on the gauge and its not too expensive!!

Yeh, u def need to get the vac from the manifold. Vacuum with vary from one vehicle to another because of compression ratio's , cam timing etc.
