how do i stop it from getting damp tho
Unfortunately you need to identify where the damp is getting in. The only way to do this is to check the car over, bit by bit. Are the carpets damp at all? Is the car fitted with a sunroof? Does there appear to be any damp in the rear side-pockets?

I noticed some really horrible mould on my back seats whats the best thing to get rid of it (something wont make the colour run or stain it) and what is causing it, I dont think theres water getting in would condensation do it ??? They seats are damp, but how ? Its the Mary Quant car
Right, to get rid of the mould from the seats you either need to strip the fabric cover off (back seat material is stapled down to a base board) and wash in the washing machine, OR what I did was to use a wet / dry / washer vacuum cleaner. Take the back seat cussion out (two screw holding two leather / plastic tabs to the rear bulkhead) then remove the rear seat squab (another two screw *inside* the boot holding two metal brackets to the rear shelf).
soak the seat cover material with warm water (not too hot) and use tesco / sainsburys /etc. own cheap make of Biological washing machine LIQUID (Must be BIO liquid), about two cap fulls poured into a bowl of warm water. Pour a cup full of the soapy water at a time on to the fabric and use a SOFT brush and your hands, to work it into the fabric (until it builds up a bit of foam) until you have washed the entire area, leave for a few more mins, then rinse it off with clean water. Use the wet / dry vac to pull as much of the water as possible out of the fabric and seat foam, then rinse off with clean water and repeat with the vac. You need to get ALL of the bio liquid out or it will attract dirt to the fabric. dry the seat squabs next to a radiator or somewhere they will dry quick (or they may get mouldy and smelly again, if wet too long).
As for where the water is getting into your car, two locations spring to mind:
1) check the rear opening quater windows and rear window seals (squirt with a hose and look fro water getting in)
2) carefully remove the rear wheel arch vinyl cover from the back seat area, and look for signs of rust or holes in the arch (happened to mine, rear seat pan was soaked).
