ok, so weve been through the 'cant get oil pressure' thing. that was sorted. then we had the whole 'wont turn over' thing. new starter and solinoid sorted that. but now it just wont fire. we have a spark and im sure that there is new fuel coming through. it just wont fire. it keeps making noises like its trying but it just wont have it. have checked the static timing several times and i am pretty sure that it is correct. have set it at 8degrees btdc just as the guys at med(who built the engine) told me to do. i must be missing something but i am buggered if i know what it is.

can someone tell me exactly where the rotor arm should be pointing in relation to the dizzy cap. should it be pointing directly at the terminal for number 1 plug lead or should it be just before or just behind? i think that i have it right but just want to check.

any ideas? you guys have done me proud so far.

Pretty much directly at #1. You sure it's not 180 degrees out?

Is the carb set at the inition position as well as the dizzy as the fuel needs to be right?

the dizzy drive spindle ould be in slightly out of factory timing but thats not a problem!!

take out the spark plugs, remove the rocker box and rotate the engine slowly until you are at tdc on no.1 cylinder, making sure you are on the compression/combustion stroke. then see where the rotor arm is pointng, whater it poinbts at put lead number 1 to that.

remember the rotor arm rotates anticlockwise so next is 3, then 4 then 2.

then try again and let us know how it goes.
