OK I have searched and searched (hence my posts in a lot of old topics (sorry!!)) and I can't find a topic about the Isle of Wight proper.
Basically this thread goes out to anyone from the island or anyone who knows people on the Island.
I'm pretty new to the mini scene, but I've been trying really hard to get stuck in with a club, regular meets etc, but it all seems a bit slow...
The IOWMOC has some lovely guys in it, but well, it just seems that nothing ever happens.
SO! Anyone on the Island, do you know an active local club, or would you be interested in helping me start meets and possibly a full on club?

Im from the island and liove in St Helens. I went along to a couple of the IOWMOC meets and it was nice, but when i said i couldnt go to one i never got a phone call about anymore. they do seem to justsit in a pub and talk in little groups within the club, so not too much fun

Im at Plymouth uni most of the time but could be good to get either a new club or a few meets going, especially in the summer as there are a lot of minis over here

On my various trips to the island I've seen quite a lot of Minis!

I'll be bringing mine over very soon, the roads out to Ventnor and round to Black Gang would be awesomely fun in my Mini

yeah exactly theres a million minis on the island but nothing ever seems to go on... I'm in Cowes mate, Northwood to be exact.
And yeah, those roads down to blackgang are gorgeous
Start in Freshwater, finish at blackgang, back to newport for a mcd's Military road is the greatest....

Do you know anyone in northwood with a J reg mini city in maroon? the roads over blackgang are awesome, i went for a drive over that way the other day, did the military road from one end to the other, was great fun.

I got friends in Totland, used to go down visit in summer, but yea, roads out to Blackgang are great

I visit cowes every a couple of times a year! I love that place.

Fairly recently yeah.... it's got white bonnet stripes?
So what do you reckon should we have a bash at trying to make an ACTIVE MOC on the IOW?

yeah thats the one, whit bonnet stripes and 2 spot lights on the front, was my mates old mini.

i think it would be a good idea, maybe put a hting in the weekly ad or county press to see if people would be interested, maybe just get them to email first expressing interest and what they would like to see etc

not every weekend no, im at Plymouth Uni so dont get back home a lot but get quite long holidays
