No Brake Lights

Brake lights just suddenly stopped working.. both of them, everything else works fine. whats wrong with this heap of poo?

Checked the fusebox?
Checked the switch on the pedal hasnt come loose?

The pedal switch is a favourite, or the angled connectors have lost contact with the wires... easy to check tho... just press the switch and the brake lights should come on..

Checked the fusebox?
Checked the switch on the pedal hasnt come loose?


The fusebox is fine, and i checked down at the switch and nothings loose.. :'(

It could be the switch itself, get a short piece of wire and bare both ends. Connect the two connectors on the switch together and the brakes lights should illuminate. If they do its the switch, if not its a power supply problem

join the 2 wires at the switch together and see if the lights come on

Didnt work man. Everything else on that fuse works also..

if you havent got a multi meter uses a bulb and 2 pieces of wire 1 to touch onto the wire going into the switch and 1 to a good earth

a car bulb? I do have a multimeter but.. i dont know how to use it. Its an oldish one with a dial. I'll have to try this tomorrow. but what on earth could have caused this?? So annoying..

a car 12 volt bulb or the multimeter on 12 volts dc

Ok.. What if i put the wires to the body of the car and see if it sparks? I was thinking before, i have some wires in the boot that arent tucked away, maybe something in my boot pulled a wire? The wires hang down from the right lights.. If one was pulled out, would both stop working?

Done my cowboy spark test and nothing happened, so i switched the connector it was on in the fuse box (still stay on the same fuse) and they worked.. I think waters getting in to it, or something.
