My mini has had pretty poor perfromance and high emissions (around 8%) since I had some work done on my gearbox recently...But seen as the mini isn't so keen on wet/windy/dark conditions it's not been of major concern as I've not been out in it much.

However I've just had a brainwave and checked the dashpot to find that it was pretty close to dry :'(

I know this would help to explain the lack of pull from the engine on acceleration but would it go someway to explaining the emmisions (as in more air being pulled through in the first place)?

Cheers,

FG.

i wont say its impossible!! without the damping the dashpot could have risen further i guess, that would richen the mixture a fair bit!
