Does it matter what way up the relay is when mounting or should it be upright all the time.

they work on magnets so no. you can mount them how you like......unless your on a planet with a weird gravity.

if your fitting it to the car in the engine bay then i would mount it with the connectors to the bottom, so you dont get water becoming stagnant on it and causing a short cuircit
