
What size spanner to adjust hi-lo's?

Hi all
Went to adjust the hi-los and found that the spanner i have wont fit. What size is it i need and do i need two or can i get away with one? Also (for the rears) do i need to jack the car up to adjust?

I use a water pump wrench to do mine

I cant remember exactly what size theyre meant to be, but I used a 32mm I think, that gripped them well enough to get them tight.
And you really need 2 to be honest.
Jacking the car up also make them easier to wind up or down.

Yeah jack the car up to adjust the rears, it takes alot of time and practise to match both sides up. You count the thread each side, make sure there both the same, lower the car back down and the car is sitting at an angle again. As for the spanner size i managed to do mine with a 30mm, not the correct size (a little bit too big) but i managed to do mine up tight enough with it.

Yep...pipe wrench!!I use a water pump wrench to do mine

Hmm, something tells me 28mm.
But like has been said 30mm did it, and I used 32mm which didn't slip particulary.

well if pipe wrench is what i think you are on about they come in 15 mm and 22mm.

I don't think it is what you are thinking about! Pipe wrenches comes in all sorts of sizes and the jaws open to fit all sorts of nuts!well if pipe wrench is what i think you are on about they come in 15 mm and 22mm.

proper adjusta rides are 28mm
and the normal cheapo hilos are 30mm
I am 99% sure as both them spanners are in my car for me to tweak my ride hight
