12G940 head from F reg Metro

After searching on here i`m still not clear as to wether a 12G940 head from an F reg metro would be unleaded.
can anyone clarify please.

It may have been converted at any time in its life, but heads became unleaded from the factory from 1989 i believe.

So i dont think this would be unleaded as standard.

F, too early, G (89) is the first time unleaded's started to appear, however, without the engine number, can you actually be sure the head/engine is the original one to the car anyway...

The first unleaded 1275 engines were numbered 12HE24...

Thanks for the help. dont know the engine number. its one that iv`e seen for sale and dont think the guy has the engine that it came off.

If you can have a look at the head in person then you will be able to see if it's been converted. If you look around the exhaust valve seat you should be able to see a fine line just outside the seat which is where the hardened unleaded seat meets the head. You may have to give it a bit of a clean first tho.
