Ok so my brake lights went again, and then i sorted them by moving the wire at the fuse box. The wire is pretty short so i might be better just rewiring it. i take it, its just a wire from the fuse box to the switch at the foot pedal?

just find the lights
all the parts are numbered and follow the wire back to the switch and then to where ever it goes
just like trying to work out what string goes to want balloon in those kiddy puzzle books

brake light,1 of the green wire on fuse box, straight to switch, then to brake lights!! very simple circuit!chances are tho if moving that wire helped the fuse box needs changing not the wire!

Its a fresh fuse box I was thinking its just the connector on the wire itself, but the wires short so i can put a new one on. I just want to put a new wire between the fusebox and the switch.. but the wire at the fusebox is green and the wire at the switch is red, where do they go?

i told u where it goesup there, if its red then maybe its been joined before!! trust me tho that will work fine. are u sure its not just a green wire with a red tracer! thats the colour its meant to be i think!! maybe green with purple tracer. testing my own memory here!!

It's on the same circuit as the reversing lights so have you had a new exhaust fitted recently?
Basically check the gear selector shaft beneath your Mini because if the wiring from the reverse lights switch gets chafed or whatever then it will blow the fuse and sometimes fitting a bigger exhaust can rub against the wires.
