i went to a mates farm the other day to get some sheet steel to weld my clubby up , got ther and my mate said do you want one of these the 1 was a fiesta and the other was a rover 400 with (head gasket gone) so i said yer il have it off ya i gave him 50 quid ,
sunday took the cylinder head off and found that there is a big hole in the piston so im guna put a new egine in as i found loads for bout 100 quid,

Owned a couple of these noe, first was a 1.4 16v, i also replaced the engine as the head gasket went, stripped it down in 20mins at dinner time and the last head bolt snapped the tip off! Managed to get a low mileage (less than 20,000 miles) rover 25 engine that i had to swap cams etc with my original engine for the rotor arm drive etc. Last was a diesel, brilliant car, pretty quick, very reliable and good mpg, towed pretty good as well.
Becareful if you take the engine and box out as a whole, i snapped the speedo drive off putting it all back in! Never seen a psiton go on a 'k' series and i've been working with them for 5 1/2 years!
Absolute bargain for £50! Fix it and you'll get a good £700 easy.
