now blitzing the car in a week and putting a 16v in it for the shows this year.
using a corsa inlet manifold as it is shorter :
Posted Image
it clears the master/clutch etc with a shorter manifold
inner a panels / sill on one side (other will need doing one day) an both a panels replaced

engine came outoday , will give it a tidy up and paint the bulkhead . .then all back in.

had major problems with the donor XE engine .. and could not figure out the wiring on the immobliser ..so have bought
a blank ECU with no immobiliser.
got a few extra goodies on the way for the car .. kids keep saying i am "pimping" mummys car :gimme:

If the other sill will need doing one day, would it not be easier to do both at once? :gimme:

Glad you've put a thread on here about it matt, dont look on 16v too much so useful to see it here. Any idea's on wether the mantzel (spelling?) performance inlet manifold for the corsa would still fit? Supposed to be pretty good and add a good 20bhp aparently.

Be good to see how it comes out.

very nice .. not as quick as my 2litre 16v was ..but plenty quick enough. made a nice car.
but wanted to go down the 16v route to see what problems i would find . also they are more common now.

I swear its not going to be long before every member of your family has a 16V mini of some kind! And if any of your kids get one before mines done I'm commiting suicide!

And when you going to do a real 16V conversion with a Vtec? :gimme:

ok .cleaned up the bulkhead , and painted it black.:
Posted Image
took the gearbox off the engine , as i am converting it to hydrolic clutch , also replacing the clutch while i am there.
added a little paint to the gearbox to brighten it up :
Posted Image
other jobs i did , re-check suspension , tidied up the wiring on the engine , painted the inlet manifold white to try and match the car

will hopfully get clutch all back together tommorow , gearbox on and engine back in car ... i hope :gimme:
