Hi guys I got a bit fed up with the lack of a mini scene on the Island, despite there being a huge amount of minis...
I've been off college ill the last couple of days, so I've started building a website.
Basically I have 2 questions:
What sort of content should I include on the site?
Could anyone help with hosting and/or domains? (I would gladly buy some myself, but even affording petrol is a problem at the moment....)

Any ideas on the content then people? What are the vital things for a mini website?
So far I have: events, contact us, join us, forums (with a link to here if we could get an IOW section, or a section within the south coast section or something?), gallery.... i think thats it so far.

hey mark mate sorry i havent been able to get on msn today im snowed under with my college assignment.

anyway! how about an owners section telling you about there cars, themselves, there future plans and a picture of them and their car??

a section for meets why dont you make a IOW mini owners club then you could organise fun runs and allsorts have pub meets and everything!

That's the point of my website, is that there IS an IOWMOC, it's just not really.... well, there! It's hard to explain really, without sitting down and havign a proper chat about it.
But yeah, thanks a lot for the ideas Phil, I'll be sure to add them in!

OK here's a screenshot of teh basic site layout... I KNOW it's bland... what can I do to make it stand out more? And do I need anymore links on the menu, or is that enough do you reckon?

site looks like it needs more pictures as a background and stuff maybe even a large logo on the background. needs a splash of colour i think lol

No problems dude, just try to keep bandwidth intensive things (large pictures, streaming audio, video, etc) to a minimum!

if you're gonna use a background image, make sure its faint so that you can still read the text !

Site's done.... well not so much done as C**p, but it's a site and that's the main thing. Please no whinging about how rubbish it is when you all see it, it's built for a purpose not to look nice.
