ive finished my quick rebuild of my 1275 engine but when building it noticed the oil pressure relieve valve plunger wont come out. i plan on fitting a ball bearing in its place but need to get it out.
Is there an easy way of removing it?
Thanks
Daniel

Hi, what you can try doing is put a flat bladed screwdriver in the lunger and press it against the wall while trying to slide it out. Failing that, if you have a threadmaking tap of suitable size, push that in there so it just grips the plunger, then try extracting it that way. But be careful not to mark anything else. Doing this means that you may need a new plunger to use when you assemble everything back up.
Lastly, if still no luck, turn the engine over very briefly, and the build up of pressure should eject the plunger, but there will be a mess of oil you will have to clean up afterwards!!

The only 100% successful way of removing a stuck oil pressure valve is a spark plug tap (14mm) fits perfectly...

i used an M6 rawl bolt and a pair of plyers!! locked the rawl bolt into the plunger then pulled it out with the pliers!
