I have a twin air horn to go on my mini with compressor, where would be the best place to put this and where
would be the best place to wire it with a swith into the dashboard?

I would wire it through a relay (this is a must) and have a switch on the right hand side of the car along with the fog light switch.

However, not wanting to scare you,.... but i though 'Twin' air horns were strictly illegal :D but i'm no 100% on that...

Single tone are LEGAL. musical ones AS A MAIN HORN are illegal.

As i thought, Twins are a 'no no' and it can't be a main moosical one.

If both horns fire at the same time, then they are legal. - Two notes produce a single tone.

I have mine mounted to the inner wing at the front of the car on the left as you look at it, with the compressor attached to a bolt was holding something else on, mine is wired throguh a relay, which is essential, and I've wired it to a 3 way switch (was the only one I had) so I can have the air horn on, no horn on, or the original horn on.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARP!

fitting the horns behind the number plate is a good place and still leaves the engine bay clear :)

i have my air horns on a change over switch so i can use the standard horn of the air horn from the ind actor stalk switch :D

if they are a twin horn system that fires both at the same time then it is perfectly legal to have them as your main horn. If they play a tune then you have to have them switched as you must retain your original horn.
Seen them fitted behing the numberplate and it's a great idea as it doesn't clutter the engine bay!

aye, I have twin horns but they give off a single tone. I asked Mr MOT about it when I had the MOT last year. He said "yeah it's fine".

We have twin air horns fitted and the mini has passed the MOT with them on. Now in the testers manual it states the criteria for a horn, and in the text it mentions that a horn should not be 'stridant', which I take as to mean not to frighten (pedestrians etc).
Now if air horns are not 'stridant' I dont know what is. Obviously apart from the spectacular sounding horns on hornblasters.com.
