search isnt bringing anything up so i ask - is there a 5speed box that you can mate onto a 998 mini engine?

Im sure mini-spairs / Mini sport / Mini speed make a 5 speed A-series Gearbox which bolts straight on. However, Its alot of money. :D

:D of course - mini sport! i think its gonna be out of my price range though - theres no standard box off of another car is there?

Only the Cooper Sport 5 I believe.

Nothing std, and the cooper sport 5 just used a Jack Knight 5 speed....

Anything you find for an A-series with 5 gears in it will be £1000+, and the boxes aren't all they are cracked up to be anyway!

If you want better motorway cruising just fit a different final drive.
