Right, well as some of you will know i don't actually have my car yet, however she will be needed a respray, unless of course i find a bright metallic green mini with sportspacks out there ;). But anyway, my question is this, is it possible to strip everything in the car, bar the engine, windows and one seat ( + speedo ) obviously, and then take it to a painting company that will prep it and strip the rest out ? are there painting companys that offer the whole shebang like that ? And if so, any in bristol ? lol !

Yes, there are places, infact most body shops, which will do that, but you pay for the labour... you best option is to take a bare shell on one which is just on its wheels and subframes then you'll only be paying for the body prep and paint...

For a complete bare shell overhaul, don't expect much change from a couple of grand. Probably better to buy a brand new heritage shell, as there should be little or no prep required.

But I'm not a body shop so would not know exact figures.

Hmmm, So is it posslby to get the Car resprayed whilst it is " fully furnished " ? I know obviously the inside will end up being a different colour, but is this something done alot ?

you could just get the outside done yes.... but make sure you take all the trim off i.e. lights, bumpers etc.. or the likely hood is they'll just mask around them, Which is very poor practice indeed.

I would strip the car and get it all done. much nicer ;)

Ah yes, but then, its also more moneys ;) . And by that token, I should get the shell sand blasted. then find more rust , and then i'd have to buy a heritage shell ! haha. I dont know all i know is that stripping it right down.. essentially sounds to me like when i get it back im gunna be building a car from scratch. which although fun, sounds time consuming and difficult

I meant if you only get the external done, strip the trim off it, not the whole car :w00t:

But i'd do it properly. ignoring rust will only make it cost you more in the long run.
