Hey,
Ok so the little red thing failed, I knew it would but didn't expect the length of the report I got -
Hazards not working (switch problem I think)
O/S/R fog lamp not working
O/S/F headlamp beam out
Cracked reg plate (In my oppion you can still read it fine)
N/S/F + O/S/F sub-frame rubber mounting to replace
N/S + O/S outer-sill to weld
O/F sub-frame mounting area to weld
Rear brakes need changing (Been trying to do this myself for ages but can't get the drum back over the top on one side, when I told a garage about it the bloke said it could be a seized cylinder)
Hand brake not working
Also the emissions failed on the lambda reading coming in at .15 - .30 over the max limit (what's the process for sorting this?)
Anyone got any ideas at how much i'm looking at for getting all this sorted? The MOT place quoted me £200 but another garage is getting back to me tomorrow with a quote.

I had a similar problem to you when I got mine mot'ed last year, thou there was a few more things that needed doing than yours most of which, if not all of it I could have done it my self but I dont have the space and expertes for the job. Total cost was around the £650 mark but £360 of that was labour and thats where they'l get you to be honest.
If you want anymore info give me a shout.
Hope thats anyhelp to you

TUT TUT, theres a few things there that were easy spotted and easy fixed. Should have fixed them before the MOT.
£200 doest sound too bad, but dont expect concourse finish. Should be good for another mot.

Ay I know what you mean. Didn't think the reg plate would fail (how much for a new one from a shop do you reakon - £30?) but just tested the fog lamp with another bulb and it worked, so a new bulb and that's sorted.
Never welded in my life though and wouldn't trust myself to do the sills and sub-frame. going to have a look at the hazard switch tommorow in the light.
How easy is it to replace the sub-frame rubber mountings

Sounds like the teardrop mounts. Easily replaced. Even if it's the floorpan mounts it isn't hard. Both of these two mountings can split into two pieces so it could be either.
It sounds like its the floorpan which needs welding rather than the subframe itself and that is more likely.

You were right Dan just looked over the report again, it's got floor in brackets next to the sub-frame area bit.
It've just noticed though it's got "Hazards not flashing in phase, with ignition off". Just been out to check and yep, they work fine with the engine running but completly cold when off.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
Ste
