does anybody know of what wires go to which connections.

basically my washers and wipers do not work.i have checked the fuses - all ok.i then checked the wiring.the wires that go to the motor are all disconnected plus the terminals are thick with corrosion. i think there are 5 possibly 6 in total that go to the wiper motor. does any one know of which wire goes where and possibly show a picture or either do a diagram of what colour the wires are please.

thankyou very much.much appreciated.

This is very common, the normal thing is to get a repair section of wiring loom to replace the plug and a new park switch for the wiper motor. The new plug just needs crimping in place colour for colour and the old switch needs to be unclipped and replaced, again swapping the wiring colour for colour. It normally is corrosion in this area causing the problem and it will extend inside the park switch as well. All the good Mini specialists keep the park switch and repair plug.

Looking at the park switch body from the wiring side with the connectors at the bottom, red is on the left, yellow on the right and blue vertical.

On the brush plate, with the brushes facing you and the second speed brush at the bottom blue is left, yellow is bottom and red is right.

When looking into the plug with the vertical pin at the left, the vertical is black, top left is brown/light green, top right is light green/orange, bottom left is blue/light green and bottom right is red/light green, I think.

Part number for the new plug lead is 520161 and for the park switch is 520160A from Mini Spares.
