Will any front subframe fit my 1976 clubby?
Also with the rest of the engine up to spec what kind of road driving will a 296 cam give me?
A '76 should be on a single tower bolt subby I think.
As for the cam, lumpy, difficult to pass MOT emmisions test and more suited to highly tuned engines. What spec is your engine?

I think the rev range for a 296 is like 2500-8000rpm or something.
Think about the gearing of your car if you are gonna make it a high revver. Do you know what FD it has?
EDIT: moved to technical and problems

EDIT: as i might not have enough for a straight cut box would a change of a FD still benefit me on a standard recon box?

Would a 1979 mini be twin or single bolt subby?
Yup!
Nah, seriously, it'll be a single bolt. It's easy to tell by looking though. It's the bolts at the back, near the wiper motor on the left and master cylinders on the right.
