hi,
iv got this setup on my mini, it came with it when i bought it as a project, i thought of leaving it on to see what its like but its too bumpy for my liking, im only running standard 12" steelies aswell!!

i want to replace it but im not sure with what, im looking at a standard setup? any other ideas? as i want comfort aswell as
reducing a bit of body roll, im currently running spax front dampers aswell, should i put standard ones on aswell??
all help is well appreciated as its kinda getting annoyin, its bouncing my beauty to pieces...

Do you know if it was setup correctly ever? As i believe you have to have them set up by weighing each corner of the car and then setting the corners appropriately. So it could just be that it has never been set up right?
As for less body roll, surely the coilovers are aimed to provide this? Also, to return to standard you would need a rear subby so it wouldnt be cheap, you might find someone that would want to swap though as i believe this is very desirable for weight saving purposes etc

well to be honest i think you have a point there about getting them set up because we havnt we just whacked it on, i didnt realise you had to set it up..sorry theres no body roll on the current setup which i admit is pretty good, i aint got any grip which is a prob tho!! a set of alloys will sort that out,
well i wer thinkin of gettin a second hand subby for like £60, but.. how much would it cost for it to be setup and where could i get it done?
cheers

Oh i see, i thought you said you bought it with them already fitted. In which case, yes i *think* you have to set them up as mentioned briefly, but do a search for coilovers as you will find the answer.
If your wanting someone else to do the labour, ou could be looking at quite a few hundred all in, and is the subby complete with radius arms etc?
As for alloys sorting your grip, your tyres will have more influence really, as well as getting the suspension sorted.
Have you just changed the dampers on the front?

yeah ill give that a try thanks.. o really that much!! ill get my dad to help then, i aint got that sort of money
yeah, well i hope it is, its on my car at the min!!,
and thats what i mean about grip not the tyres itself
i wasnt to sure if setting it up would make much difference to the ride tho? because its quite bumpy thats why i wanted to change it....
on the front its got spax dampers, how much difference will it make to the firmness of the ride?
