well, our Cooper spent the first part of it's life in Jersey and was imported back into England after doing about 1500 miles on the island (think it might have been a hire car as they did use coopers and mokes on Jersey) so i'm always interested in tracking the full details of it's history.
Now, do you realise that part of your cars registration number is a code that tells you where it was first registered on the road.
an example: the three letters of our reg are FOT. the last two letters "OT" are a code for the area that is was licenced in.
OT is one of the codes for Portsmouth, which tells me that Dominic came over on a boat from Jersey and landed in Portsmouth, cool or what

two more examples: first mini = 621 AOK, last mini = X411 JOP.
OK and OP are both codes for Birmingham, which is where they were registered as they were registered by the people at Longbridge.
The codes work for all cars from 1903 to 2001, and remember you want the LAST TWO LETTERS.
IF YOUR CAR WAS REGISTERED AFTER 1974, LOOK IN THE SECOND COLUMN.
if anyone has any problems reading the images (you may need to enlarge them) just let me know.
so, where is you car from ???
