Quick question here really. I am hooking up the Hif38 that I got and it has a few lines that need to be run off of it. I have inserted a numbered picture to help keep things clear. If any of you could name what goes where it would be a big help. I have a few of the lines already... but filling in the gaps would be appreciated. I have only found a tutorial on the Hif44 not the Hif38. Cheers

#2 should be the vent to the transfer case
#3 should be the fuel line... correct me if I am wrong
#5 should be the vaccum line that connect to the dizzy

I just need help with #1 and #4 Cheers.

I believe one is your fuel overflow, and one is a vacuum line for something else. Probable 5 is fuel, but I can't remember, having never had an HIF38 on my car...

Thanks for the input 998Dave... I am pretty sure that 5 is actually the vaccum line for the distributor. I was thinking that 4 would be the fuel overflow pipe as it is a bottom float setup in this carb. I was just trying to get clarification of some kind. Pipe 1 I have absolutely no idea where that goes.

5 is vacuum
2 is the breather pipe from ur timing chain area or the clutch breather (if fitted)

Now i cant remember, and my HIF44 is different so i guess either 3/4 are fuel imput and fuel overflow.

This is what I have so far...

1- No clue at all
2- Breather to transfer case (chain area) 100% sure
3- Fuel inlet I think
4- Fuel drain I think
5- Vaccum for Dizzy 100% sure

1 is the one that is kicking my butt... I cant even find pics on the internet of this carb hooked up inside a car.
