Ok ive got my instruments and im going to wire them in, problem I have is the oil and water temp sensors are different sizes and threads than the original ones, can I just use the original ones on my electric guages?
The oil pressure has some sort of solenoid how best can I plumb that in?
Does anyone know of a guide on how to do it?
cheers Simon

tried to get an adapter, went to nut and bolts place where i get me nuts and bolt but no luck then tried a hydraulic pipe place but no luck again, they said somewhere would make one up but sounds a bit pricey and if the orignals work would save a lot of hassle.

Just saw your custom dash thread, i've the same gauges... although i haven't installed them properly yet i think i know how :gimme:

For the oil pressure guage get a T-peice from minispares, the solinoid screws in as dues the current oil pressure warning sensor.

I don't know about the water temperature as i didn't get one of those.

as for the wiring i think this is right...

Red - live (on ignition)
Black - Earth
Orange - headlights switch (so they dim when your lights are on)

Then there are wires to connect to the sensors which change depending on the guage.

got a t peice from minispares along with a load of other daft seals and gasgets and it looks about right.

On the guages there are 2 lots of positive and negative, one for the illumination and one to actually power the workings, it would be fine to wire them into the same source for power wouldnt it? im using the heater power supply as im not having a heater so its a switched live.

the dash is now sprayed and laquered just leaving it in the house for a day or so to harden, will try and get some pics of it all finished but prob not with the guages lit up unless I can cobble some wiring to light them up.
Simon
