Hello, guys got a few questions for you tonight, but I'll spread them over a few topics to keep discussions separate.

First, the lights all round my car seem very dim. At first i figured it was just because I had sealed headlamps, and that I just needed to upgrade. But I've noticed my rear lights are quite weak also, as well as the interior lights on the dash. Driving along dark roads is quite scary, becuase any approaching vehicles cancel out my lights and leave me pretty much blinded.

I noticed tonight that if i have the main interior light on, then flick on the main lights, the interior light dims, then even more so if i put on full beams. Revving the engine when stationary also causes the headlights to brighten up slightly.

I'm guessing it's my alternator, but I don't have any problems with starting the car in terms of flat battery. Any suggestions? Ones that hopefully don't involve spending much?

Cheers as always team!

have you got a multimeter? check the voltage at the alternator, should be between 13.5 and 14.5v. If not, clean up earths and try again. then tell us the score :(

Take you car to an Auto Electrician, for about £30 he will probably diagnose your problem a lot quicker and probably fix it as well.
