Hi guys, second question!

I'm having real problems with my engine being a real pain when i start it up. It splutters and coughs when i start it up, and have to whip the choke out a fair amount to stop it making lots of deep rumbles. It also sounds like the exhaust noises are coming from underneath the engine, rather than from out the back of the exhaust. This particular noise is quite rhythmic- a 'puht puht puht' sound, quite slow.

I've had the car rolling-roaded in the last month, so I'm a bit gutted to still be having these problems. The only thing i can see that might be causing it is the exhaust mount is broken at the back of the car, and that seems to be causing quite a bit of play in the exhaust. Could i have broken something/ how do i know/ how do I fix it?

I do love minis, but just sometimes I want to scrap mine into a tiny cube.
Thanks!

It could be the exhaust hangers allowing extra flex but i would expect this to happen all the time not just on a cold start. Check them and check the engine mounts for excessive movment, a rocking engine can cause the exhaust to blow, as for the choke, sounds like it needs setting up - has this just started since we have had the really cold weather?
