My rear subframe has a hole in it. i can get a New subframe for about £120 but after i've done all the hi-lo and suspension bits i want to do to it, it will probably work out cheaper to fit a beam Axle and coil overs.. Can I change the Rear to beam and coil overs and leave the front standard? or does it all need changing???

If i have to change the front set up, i have heard on the grape vine that the Z-cars Front end Set up can take an A-series engine and understand that this would give further gains over the existing set up with regards to weight and handling, but.... Would i need to remove the front end to do this?? I don't want to remove the front end as i have the body kit on.

Am i better of fitting a new rear subframe with hi-lo's and cones and upgrading the front to adjustable bits or going down the coil over route all round, or going the whole hog and doing the Beam/Zcars route????? I Just don't Know!!!!!!

Sure you can put coil overs on the standard front without the z-cars subframe. You will need the bottom brackets and coil overs only.

I know that..... it's just the Zcars one looks like a page 3 model!!!!!!! :(

So i'll look at the FRA rear beam with fixings £80... sounds cheap enough, but i suppose the coil overs will be a bit on the sharp side!!!!!

you could always just loose some weight, then you wouldn't have to worry about beefing up your suspension!!! :(

FRA are very hard to get hold of, well i found they were.

gaz coilovers are reasonably priced.

im sure you could fit a zcars frame without chaopping the front. if you built it up off the car engine wheels and everything then just lifted the body up and popped it under. sorted.

does seem a bit of an expensive way just to have coilovers on the front.

good luck getting hold of FRA if you choose the subframe replacement route. i'd buy the minispares one if i had the spare dosh. HERE

you could always do what i have done and youd save a few pennines.

depending on where the hole in your subby is you could cut it down
