Help,
I just got an '81 morris mini and I am stripping it for a total restore. Good fun, but my biggest problem so far is that I can't get the fricking doors off. The angle doesn't allow me to really get a screw driver in and get enough torque. So far I'm getting closer to stripping them than I am to getting the door off. I'm almost ready to get out the grinder and cut the things off. Does anyone have a trick to do this easier? Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like you're trying to unbolt the doors from the hinges, which are secured by 4 large cross headed bolts into captive nuts in the door.
An easier way to do it is to remove the doors and hinges compelte from the hinge panel. The hinges are secured by 4 7/16" nuts which are accessed from underneath the inner wing. Best way to do it is to remove the wheel. They're often quite rusty and many shear, but if you're patient and get them nice and clean with a wire brush and give them plenty of lubrication they should come undone.

Hi
I find the easiest way to remove doors is to undo the 7/16" nuts inside the wheel arches behind the 'A' panels. Then once the doors are off you can get to the screws much easier.
Hope this helps!

As been said, BUT first remove the pin in the door check strap, as it’s almost imposable to do last when you realise it’s the only thing holding the door on.

Also if your mini needs "A" panels , cut them off and you get much better access to the hinge nuts
