Hey folks,

Looking to see what people recommend for tooling up grinder, cutter and welder wise. Basically everything to cut panels off, weld new ones in, remove mess left over from welding.

At the moment im completely tool-less in this department...so really would like somthing relitively easy to use....nothing a novice would fret over.

Cheers

i have a 100 amp mig welder from b and q. i want a 130 really but can make do with the smaller one for now. i have a 4 inch angle grinder. a small selection of hammers, chisels and other various hand tools that help do the job. a hacksaw is a good purchase. if money allows then a jigsaw with metal cutting blades. a pair or welding gauntlets which double up as metal working gloves. all of this is relatively cheap to buy. the reason i dont have super dooper stuff is i can use works stuff if the need arrises! to be honest my entire mini was built on a budget and the results speak louder than words! hope this helps

Hi, mate, obviousley your gonna need a welder to start, also a angls grinder with cutting and grinding discs (don't use either one for other purpose as if they go, they will go and hurt!) definatley get GOOD QUALITY welding gloves as the cheapo ones just burn through to your skin, I have the scars to prove this one, a light reactive mask is a good investment also, these are cheap as chips noe on ebay.

A few different hammers will be needed a set of body hammers are cheap nowadays aswell and come with the dollys to shape metal, a pair of tin snips are also needed, and that should pretty much see you right for any eventuality, oh and a drill or punch if you are gonna be spot welding panels on. hope that helps.
